Stopped in for a quick bite while on a roadtrip and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this little spot! For the price, the food was delicious and fresh and the portion sizes were great! Notably, the brats and spätzle were super tasty. For dessert, you have to try the fried ice cream!! Also, the staff was wonderful!! If I ever make my way through this part of BC again, I'd be happy to come back!

Other reviews are right. This place was good. The spaetzle was precool. I got the hot stone steak. Good friendly attentive service.

I have to stay in Chetwynd once a month for work. Like most small towns, there's not a lot of dining options. The locals kept recommending this place for dinner but I was reluctant because the exterior is very shabby.... in fact it looks closed down.
However on my last visit I went in and had an excellent dinner! The bratwurst I ordered was cooked to perfection, very much a home cooked meal. The waitress was friendly and the restaurant was fairly busy but had a mellow atmosphere and the food came out without having to wait too long.
I also found the prices to be very reasonable considering the high quality of the food and the fact everything in a small town is usually more expensive.
Do yourself a favour and check this place out, you won't be disappointed. -

Amidst the ho-hum standard of Tim Horton's and Subway comes along the RED LION TAVERN! Disregard the bland exterior, because inside is a delightful family restaurant with a full bar and a great atmosphere and wonderful service. The food is delicious, and there is a lot to choose from: Seafood to steak to pizza to wiener schnitzel. You can't go wrong here and you can support a local business too... Hey, have a martini with that steak, or a Pilsener with your brat---you'll be glad you fueled up here!
